Innovative mediation tools, the Parcours Zélés offer young people from Marseille a spectator’s journey around contemporary circus with the aim of introducing them to this artistic universe. For the 2024/2025 school year, around forty classes are participating in this project with their teachers.
The Parcours Zélés creates connections between people, develops self-expression in students, and cultivates awareness and curiosity. The associated kit provides educational content to extend the spectator experience by experimenting with different ways of relating to the performance.
Four highlights, from discovering the circus arts to practicing creative movements:
– Session 1: learning about the history of the circus and constructing meaning in a work: What are the characteristics of the circus? How can its history, developments, and cultural inspirations help young people understand a contemporary circus show?
– Session 2, coming to the show: whether in a theater, in the public space, under a big top or in a school, the encounter with performing artists is an experience in itself.
– Session 3, expressing your experience as a member of the audience: what did I see, feel, learn, imagine?
– Session 4: creating an artwork based on the show: how does a work of art inspire students to create their own art?
As part of BIAC 25, Archaos is partnering with three loyal festival partners to disseminate the project on a regional scale. The Théâtre Massalia in Marseille, the city of Vitrolles, the Théâtre de la Licorne in Cannes, and the Pôle – Arts en circulation in Le Revest-les-Eaux are embarking on the adventure with their school networks.
