In this preview of the acrobatic-dance solo performance Miettes [Crumbs], the dancer and circus artist Jules Sadoughi delivers a delicate visual poem about the passage of time and its impact on the body.
In an expressive choreography composed of tight, fast movements, the artist incarnates a body that is both vibrant and constrained. There is no set, only a dancer-acrobat and a handful of objects that are explored for their symbolic value.
Injured several times in his career, Jules Sadoughi has adopted a paradoxical attitude to pain, one that balances the power of a youthful body and the debilitation of physical wear and tear. This solo performance explores the strange sensation of being both 5 and 80 years old at the same time, like being a wild horse and an empty husk at the same time. This performance is at the crossroads of these two extremes.
Jules Sadoughi began his career as an actor in theatre and film before taking an interest in contemporary dance and the circus. He began by training in acrobatic dance and the Cyr wheel. In 2018, he joined Philippe Decouflé’s Compagnie DCA and then Olivier Letellier’s Théâtre du Phare in 2019. He co-founded Compagnie Nawar the same year with Tommy Entresangle.
