There are not enough people willing to work in administration, production, and distribution in the performing arts, as both venues and companies are sorely lacking in applicants. Why are these professions so unattractive? What are the issues behind this difficulty in recruitment?
Following an overview of the issues involved in this staffing crisis and a more general discussion of the question of work, a workshop will be held. Drawing on the situation in participants’ own organizations and companies and using the circus as a metaphor, the workshop will aim to come up with possible solutions that will enable a better understanding and support of these “creative backbone” professions.
An understanding of French will improve your experience at this group workshop.

As a member of the board of Avant Courrier, she is also responsible for the overall development of the structure and its integration into professional networks. She has been a member of the Nantaise de Diffusion network of people involved in the distribution of performing arts shows since its creation and a regional co-delegate of the Syndicat des Cirques et Compagnies de Création since 2018.
After having worked for many years in the performing arts sector in Marseille, Anaïs Lemaignan is now a psychosociologist at Le Point de Croix. Today, she provides training and assistance to address work-related issues and strengthen cooperation within teams. She also conducts skills assessments and offers individual supervision.
