In 1992, the British company Gandini Juggling revolutionized the art of juggling with nEither Either botH and. It was the first show to present a fusion between circus and postmodern dance. Thirty years later, this piece has become an iconic part of the history of the contemporary circus. Now, its creators, Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkla, are reviving the show for today’s audiences.
On stage, four performers captivate us with their juggling and throws (clubs, balls, ribbons) and their contortions. The forms they create, combined with dance steps, are perfectly executed and meticulously structured as if they belonged on a piece of sheet music.
They juggle with their bodies and with space. They also juggle objects with three, four, five, and six hands. In the process, they create a majestic and genuinely remarkable art performance.
