Catharsis is the story of a relationship between the top of a bridge and the bottom of a bar. In a space between east and west, two musicians set the mood as two performers search for each other, play risky games, immerse themselves in cathartic dances, and literally fly through the air… Through their circus disciplines of Korean cradle and hand-to-hand balancing, the acrobatic duo explores the limits of humanity in a relationship between two people.

Les Complémentaires is first and foremost Marianna and Basile. Respectively an acrobat and a lifter (hand-to-hand balancing and Korean cradle), they met in 2016 during the creation of Les Voyages (Collectif XY). Having been a couple since then, they have always sought to work on joint projects. Alongside their respective creations (En attendant le grand soir by Doux supplice and TopDown by La Triochka for Marianna, Les Dodos by P’tit Cirk and Piano sur le fil by the Plus Petit Cirque du Monde for Basile), they have been nurturing this desire. The association Les Complémentaires was finally created in Drôme in 2020, initially to support Basile’s solo piece Car tous les chemins y mènent (2022) and then Catharsis (2026).
