On a circular stage, two acrobats happily philosophize about their relationship with risk. Both have been performing stunts since they were very young. But now that they’ve made a career out of it, they’re questioning their decisions.

It all starts when one climbs a pole balanced on the other’s shoulder. Where does this intense need to put themselves in danger come from? What transpires within them when they emerge triumphant? What more do they have to lose or gain?
The two artists juggle personal insights and daring acrobatics. Their leaps into the void scare and amaze the audience. And what they express is both funny and insightful while being, oddly enough, not that far removed from our everyday lives.

Biography

After creating the show Chute! in 2016 with the Collectif Porte 27, Matthieu Gary and Sidney Pin founded the company La Volte in 2018. Based in Nantes, the duo establishes dialogues between art and education. To do this, they put together “lecture shows”, performances, and workshops based on themes specific to acrobatics (falling, risk, flight, balance, etc.). There aim is to facilitate and inspire philosophical, social, and poetic reflections.
