Part of Les Élancées festival
Take your seats, as the ten artists of Moya invite you on a journey to the heart of South Africa. In a whirlwind of colors, rhythms, and movements, the circus performers celebrate the richness of the rainbow nation that was so dear to Nelson Mandela. With virtuoso execution, they perform a wide range of acrobatic feats: aerial straps, Cyr wheel, lifts, juggling, trapeze, banquine, balancing, and much more. unctuated by traditional or contemporary South African dances such as the pantsula, acro-dance, and the gumboot. Their bodies express a desire for escape, encounter, and solidarity. They move, they sing, they vibrate, and they make Moya a hymn to joy. The result is a manifesto for a freer, fairer, and more humane world.

The Zip Zap Circus company originated from the circus school of the same name based in Cape Town. For 30 years, this organization has been using circus arts as a means of social integration for young South Africans facing poverty and violence. Throught its training programs, a whole generation of artists has reached a professional level. The performers of Moya are proud representatives of this tradition.
