In a classroom surrounded by secondary school pupils, Marie and O balance precariously on an 80-centimetre wooden beam. Holding onto each other and adjusting their counterweight, they are able to support one another. And despite the intensity of the effort, the two acrobats find the strength to talk. About their desires, their needs, their constraints. After a few minutes of watching them endure, the audience no longer knows whether this situation is unusual or commonplace for the two circus performers. Are we witnessing a performance or a moment in life?

Based in Arles, La Mondiale Générale draws inspiration primarily from the circus, but also from the visual arts, acrobatic theatre, and sound design. Its goal is to place the audience at the heart of the situation. In each of its productions, the concept comes from the company but the outcome is developed collectively.
