Le Totem
National center for the arts, children, and youth in Avignon
Creation for children and young people is currently one of the richest and most abundant creative fields in terms of the diversity of artistic proposals and approaches used to bring young people into contact with the rest of the world.
The multiplicity and mix of aesthetics along with the boldness and inventiveness of the artists who compose the current landscape make creation for young people a genuine art form that is widely respected. Artists who work with children and young people know how to resonate with our society. Their artistic approach provides an absolutely necessary symbolic, philosophical, and political echo of our world.
It’s an area of freedom that must be defended and promoted so that artists’ words continue to be a source of reflection, pleasure, sharing, and astonishment.
Through its artistic project, Le Totem fully embraces human and creative freedom.
