Take a seat in this cabaret under the big top. Here, in a Bohemian jazz atmosphere, there are no stands or bleachers for the audience. Instead, small tables surround a circular stage. In this setting, Julien Candy and Juliette Christmann offer audiences far more than just a show: they invite people to enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

Performing as close as possible to the audience – in front of them, around them, or even above them, the two circus artists carry out a series of amazing feats with talent and humor. Whether juggling, throwing, tightrope walking, or performing acrobatics, the artists create a series of madcap scenarios set to music that explore the life of a couple.

The audience laughs, is moved, and sometimes shudders. And they come away amazed and delighted to have shared a moment that combines a convivial ambiance with a high-level artistic performance.

Biography

After learning to play the cello and double bass, and taking vocal training at Vladimir Kojoukharov’s Junior Opera, Julien Candy went on to study theater at the Jacques Lecoq school in Paris and the Scuola Kiklos in Padua, Italy. Inspired by these artistic passions, in 2007 he created La faux populaire, a company that creates performances that are at the crossroads of music, theatre, and circus.
